Chilgok County announced that it held a demonstration of an AI autonomous robot, tentatively named “Da-Sireo-Jini,” designed to transport heavy camping gear from the parking area to forest campsites at Songjeong Natural Recreation Forest.

This demonstration was the final stage of a public-private collaboration between Chilgok County and DaedongRobotics, a robotics affiliate of agricultural machinery leader Daedong. The project applied an agricultural autonomous transport robot to the recreation forest, enabling intelligent self-driving transport of campers’ heavy luggage from the parking area to each forest campsite.

Through multiple joint efforts, Chilgok County and DaedongRobotics enhanced the existing agriculture-based autonomous robot to operate even on the steep slopes of the forest campground. The upgraded system integrates RTK-based GPS positioning, LiDAR, and advanced camera sensors, transforming it into an intelligent transport robot capable of navigating rough terrains within the recreation forest.

During the main camping season in November, visitors traditionally used manual or electric carts to carry heavy items up the slopes to their campsites. With the introduction of the intelligent AI autonomous robot, campers can now transport their equipment effortlessly, adding convenience and creating a distinctive, enjoyable experience through innovative AI-based campsite operations.

A Chilgok County official stated, “The demand for forest recreation and healing services continues to grow steadily rather than temporarily. In response, we will proactively promote various projects through public-private cooperation to deliver improved and more diverse forest welfare services to our visitors.”
